My Students

Our school is in a small town of about 4,000 people in the Midwest. It is filled with wonderful students and great families. My class is full of fun, loving, energetic, eager to learn Kindergartners! Our day consists of whole group instruction, partner work, desk work, and small group centers. They love when we are learning to read, exploring with science, or playing games in math. They are such a curious group of kids, and they love coming to school everyday.

My Project

My students come to school full of life and excited to learn. Many adults find sitting still for long periods of time difficult. Students do too! In Kindergarten, although we like to explore through projects and play, there are many things we need to do throughout the day that require us to sit while practicing a skill or listening to a lesson. There is so much we need to learn in this first year of school, that it is important for my students to be engaged. Wobble chairs will allow my students to release some energy while also being engaged in the lesson. Allowing them to release some energy will help reduce behavior problems, and create a less distracting learning environment while providing more student engagement.
