We’re looking to shake things up in our 4th grade Science classroom with some awesome new seating options! Flexible seating is an excellent way to allow students choice in their workspace and allow for more collaboration around the classroom. Flexible seating options like wobble stools allow students to wiggle while they work. Helping students focus and stay comfortable at the same time!
With more flexible seating options, I aim to create a classroom where students can choose the seating that best supports their individual learning styles and needs.
Wobble stools, in particular, offer students the opportunity to stay engaged and attentive while allowing for gentle movement that helps improve concentration and reduce restlessness. Standing desks are perfect for students who may prefer to stand while they work, as it helps them stay focused, stay comfortable, and gives them the opportunity to move. Plus, standing up gives them a chance to stretch and shift around, which helps them stay focused and active throughout the day! Students sitting in a traditional classroom seat can use kick bands to allow them to still move while staying focused. Wobble stools are also easily moved around the classroom by students. This means when it is time to work in groups and collaborate, students can easily grab a seat and go where they work best with their classmates.
By adding these flexible seating options to our classroom, my students can move freely and work comfortably. My hope is to transform our classroom into an environment that supports and inspires every student to do their best.
