My Students

My fourth graders want to be winners in life. They are determined to beat the odds stacked up against them! They are students at a high needs, K-5 school in North Philadelphia. With 100% free breakfast and lunch, my students deserve a quality education. Many students have experienced setbacks and trauma but need to be successful readers. With hard work and determination, they can make progress and become more engaged learners. Having flexible seating in the classroom promotes positivity and decision making for success!

My Project

I'm moving up to fourth grade, and I want my new class to have the tools needed to yield success! Flexible seating in my classroom will provide options for students to sit where they want to learn. Imagine being the kid who does not feel comfortable sitting a desk but would rather sit in a different location around the classroom. When my students have more responsibility to make their own decision, then there will be fewer behavior distractions. My students will be more engaged, comfortable, and committed to their learning.

Studies confirm that building a classroom community with flexibility promotes health, collaboration, and fun.

I will use the WOBBLE Chairs for student choice and flexibility. This will provide space for kids to move free and less desks in my classroom. I hope yo create a positive, nurturing, student centered space for learning.
