Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to give them experiences they will not have outside the classroom. This year I want not only to teach them how to learn as individuals, but in groups. Most of my students do not yet know how to do this. After this year, I want my students to be able to work together as a team to meet a common goal.
My Project
Our classroom is moving towards flexible seating. This is where the students get to decide where to sit for the day. These locations will eventually include, a wobble chair table, wobble cushions, carpet squares, standing table and scoop chairs.
Active students need these wobble chairs to help them focus.
These wobble chairs will allow them to move their body while still sitting at a table completing work. The best part about these chairs is that students are able to wiggle without distracting other students in the classroom! As a teacher of some energetic students, these would be a life saver!
