This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are fun-loving second graders that love learning and love being in school. Our school is a public school with 95% of our students receiving free lunch.
My students are happy and energetic second graders.
Most of my students come from low-income families with various cultural backgrounds and languages. The classroom is where they have the opportunity to have fun and learn at the same time.
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, I see that my students are faced with challenges both in and out of school. Parents struggle to provide them with the necessities to start the school year with and many students come to school without a pencil every day. Even with these challenges, my students come eager to learn. They are funny, smart, and active.
My Project
My students were super excited for our standing desk. So I asked them what other flexible seating would they like to get. Can you guess what they said, yes wobble stools. My students are active learners. Some of my students need to wiggle why they work. These wobble stools will allow my students to focus on the lesson at hand, while engaging them in active movement. It will help them complete work and stay focused.
Please help my students to wobble while they work.
These wobble stools will be a great addition to our classroom and it will put a big smile on my students face.
