I am a 4th-grade teacher in an elementary school comprised of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Some of my students are shy and withdrawn or have attention deficits, and alternative seating not only helps empower them, but often gives them new ways to focus their energy. Some of my students are bundles of kinetic energy who would benefit from alternative seating options.
My students are the "little engines that can," and I am on a mission to ignite that spark to help my students develop a sense of curiosity and innovation, because our future is in their hands.

My Project
Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. Making sure students are comfortable is important in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. They almost always make good choices when they are allowed to wiggle a little. Some students are more engaged and get more work completed than when they are sitting in a chair. Additionally, they are less disruptive to their peers and are able to focus on their own learning.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
The wobble stools are adjustable and will allow students to safely sit at desks with some movement. These will be extremely beneficial for students who just need to get the wiggles out. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
I have seen how choice can positively affect students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow and learn even more!
