Wobble Wiggle and Learn with Flexible Seating

My students need : 7 flexible seats that move with the students, increase appropriate movement, and stimulate the spinal chord while sitting. Students who use flexible seating stay engaged in their learning longer.

My Students

Thank you for supporting Donor’s Choose. I am Mrs. Knutson, the classroom teacher leading this project. I have been enjoying teaching elementary school for the past thirty-three years. I am a highly qualified and best and brightest educator teaching in Volusia County, Florida. I enjoy using technology as a learning tool and am both Nearpod certified and a Seesaw Ambasador

Increasing the engagement of twenty-one third grade students at this Title 1 school through unique seating and use of technology and tech devices in the class room is the goal of this Donor’s Choose project.

By funding this project these students will have the opportunity to learn with increased technology driven hands-on content in a flexible seating classroom.

My Project

Wobble active chairs encourage movement that stimulates learning. My third grade students enjoy using technology at this Title 1 school, but the regular hard plastic chairs make increased focused during reading and writing time on our devices difficult. Our hope is to provide 7 wobble active chairs for students who demonstrate lack of focus and attending difficulties. This would provide one-third of my students with a flexible chair.

Each wobble active chair will move with the student as they work in centers and at their desk.

The 18” height allows for feet to be flat on the floor and both desk and table reach to be at the correct height to allow for ‘best’ handwriting and use of technology devices.
