Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my class are caring, enthusiastic, loving, and have so much grit! My students all live in a rural community. Each come from spanish speaking homes and come to school to learn all subjects including English. These kids come from low income homes and each qualify for free and reduced lunch programs. Yet despite any hardships, these kids come eager to learn and grow. They take so much pride in their accomplishments and are always pushing to become a better version of themselves.
My Project
Students in my class come in with many different ways of learning and thinking and that includes opinions on HOW they want to learn. They also come with energy and enthusiasm that sometimes gets in the way of learning. They need areas in the room for them to choose if they want to learn sitting still or if they have a need to move their bodies while they learn. The wobble seats and tractor seats will be two different movement options my students can choose from to help them. Allowing my students to move while they learn will be a huge help to their success in our classroom.
