My school is a Title 1 Program with over 50% qualifying for free and reduced lunches. We service students from pre-k to 6th grade and I service special education students in grades 3-6th. We have high expectations for each student and we strive daily to reach these goals.
All of my students that will benefit from this project have special needs.
These students range in severity and need constant movement for focus and engagement. Brain research has shown the effects of movement and learning in special needs children.
My Project
My project is Wobble Chairs for movement in the special education classroom. My goal is five of these wobble chairs so that a whole group is able to move, focus and work.
The movement of these chairs for special needs students will be instrumental in guiding their instruction.
Each student in my class deserves the flexiblity to reach their full potential academically. These chairs will provide that flexibilty for movement, focus and success.
Every special education classroom needs options to meet the individualized education plan that is specifically written to achieve their goals. These chairs will provide my classroom with options for the different styles of learning.
