My classroom has a variety of students. This year I have a group of eighteen seven- and eight-year-olds that are full of energy, enthusiasm, and a love of learning!
Each student is unique in the way they learn.
My goal is to keep my students engaged and excited about their learning.I want to put them in charge of their own learning. I want to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
My students come from different cultures, backgrounds, and experiences. I am very lucky to teach students from all over the globe.
My Project
As a teacher, one of my goals is to prepare my students for the real world. When you think about a traditional classroom, you might envision desks and rows. However, when you consider the environments adults work in, this is hardly ever the case. I want my classroom to reflect the world that my students will one day work in.
With the wobble stools, they can wiggle and wobble until their heart is content while continuing to engage in rigorous classroom learning opportunities.
My students will use these stools while in small group instruction as well as at their desks. Think about a Starbucks where many people go to work and study. There are benches, chairs, tables, and stools. The Wobble Stools will be the perfect addition to the flexible seating in my classroom. My students will be free to choose where they work best! I want to help my students learn to make smart choices regarding their learning.
