My third graders love to learn and love to be at school! We come from the Cowboy state and love it! We are currently busy studying the history of our state through hands-on learning, field trips and expert visitors! The students have never been more motivated to learn a topic before this! My students are creators, visionaries, and problem solvers!! Our school has 42% free or reduced-price lunch recipients, so for many of my students school is a safe, nurturing place to be!
My Project
My students work so much better if they can wobble while they work! These wobble stools will give them the opportunity to focus, because they can wiggle while they are working at their desks. My teaching partner has these stools for her students and has noticed a huge improvement in her students' abilities to focus! Third grade is the new transition to intermediate...the demands that are placed on students is huge! These 8 and 9 year olds are expected to sit still for longer periods of time and these wobble stools would make this possible. Their attention span, focus and ability to remember is improved when they are fidgeting while they learn.
