My Students

My students are best described as energetic, curious, and kind. They love to learn but they also love to move, dance and play, as many 6 and 7 year-olds do. Many of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch and are considered to be pupils in poverty. They face adversity every day and need a consistent and safe classroom that sets high expectations for academic and social growth. My students are at the age where they are learning to take control of their own learning by having choices, making decisions, and developing problem-solving skills.

My Project

My students have loved using alternative seating. Alternative seating helps provide students with the opportunity to choose how much movement or stimulation they need while completing classwork. With the challenges of sanitizing and disinfecting, our flexible seating options are now limited. These plastic wobble stools will provide an alternative seating option for the students to use that can be easily sanitized at the end of each day. Wobble stools provide an excellent way for students to wiggle while working at any space in the classroom whether in small groups at the guided reading table, at students' own individual tables, or in the class library. Wobble stools are a favorite of students and can be used in the classroom in a variety of ways.
