NES is a small elementary school serving students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade. Many of our students come from low income and single parent households. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch, and our cafeteria runs a dinner program so that no child under the age of 18 goes hungry after school.
The students in my classroom are scientists, mathematicians, readers, historians, explorers and adventurers.
Students will spend this year building a foundation in math and science that will help them be successful throughout the rest of their school career.
Each child in my classroom loves learning, and approaches learning differently so many learning strategies are used. These strategies include kinesthetic, visual and audio strategies. We incorporate a variety of instructional strategies that include group work, small group instruction and personal choices about how we complete activities. I am such a lucky teacher to be in a classroom with students who want to learn every day!
Many of my students struggle to stay focused while working independently. Many of them do not like to sit at a desk to complete their work because they feel confined. The wobble stools will assist my students by allowing them to move while they work.
These stools will allow my students the freedom to move while working.
They will no longer feel like they have to sit still all of the time. This will help my students feel engaged and more in control. The stools allow for a great range of mobility while still providing the students with the stability of a chair.
