I am a fourth year teacher. Being a Title I school means that a high percentage of our children are from low income families. Since we are a Title I school, students receive two meals a day at no charge to them or their families.
Our goal is to ensure that all children have the opportunity to meet and exceed challenging state academic standards.
Many of my students struggle with confidence in their ability to learn which usually results in behavior problems. Every school year, I love having the chance to see their confidence grow inside my classroom. I am constantly looking for new ways to engage all students from all backgrounds.
As always, my students for the upcoming school year will need more ways to engage in reading to improve their comprehension, fluency, and vocabulary. Reading is one of the most challenging subjects to teach due to the lack of interest in a text. During the past year, I have taken three reading courses through local colleges to discover ways to improve my literacy block in my classroom and to find new ways to increase my students' interest in reading.
My Project
I am asking for 6 Flex-Space Wobble Chairs for my classroom. I have many students who are very squirmy. Students struggle to stay seated during whole group lessons. With these chairs students will be motivated to stay in their seat and with the constant movement these chairs allow students will stay engaged and focused on their school work.
I am working on building a classroom where students are comfortable to move around and while staying focused on their school work.
I have bought many fidgets and stability cushions for my classroom. These Wobble Chairs will be the perfect addition for my classroom.
