My Students
I teach first grade students who live in a very low income area. The resources that I provide for my students are mostly funded by me, and I do everything I can to provide the best resources for them and their learning.
My students look at school as their safe place.
I want my classroom to be a place where they can feel encouraged, learn, and express themselves freely. Giving them the opportunity of choice in the classroom will help them grow as learners.
My Project
By using these seating options, my students will be able to choose their own seat and learn to take ownership of their choices. I believe that when students choose for themselves, their minds will be more engaged and ready to jump into what we are learning. I have seen how excited they get when choosing their seats, and I know that by providing these stools as a seating option it will open many doors for my students academically. My main goal in this is to see that my students are comfortable in the classroom. By allowing these options of seating I hope that their excitement of learning increases!
