Hello and Hola!!! Truscott Elementary School is a Dual Language Immersion School that enriches the lives of 280 students in both English and Spanish.
Students will be bilingual and bi-literate by the time they leave elementary school.
Empowering all students to thrive and achieve within a child-centered, dual immersion community is our school's vision. Flexible seating and choice within the learning environment is key to the success of this vision. Allowing students to make choice while learning helps all to succeed!!

Take a trip down memory lane with me...who remembers being in school...sitting in your assigned desk...learning day in and day out...in that same desk.
Well, times are a changing...
Learning environments no longer consist of rows of desks and chairs. Classrooms today allow for choice. If a student is going to learn better or behave better by standing, then they are given the choice to stand. If students need to rock while reading, then students may make that choice.
This project will allow classrooms at our school to begin incorporating different forms of seating for students to choose from. Teachers may assign these wobble seats to particular students, or they may put them at the computer center for students to use during their computer choice time. The possibilities are endless, but the first step is getting the correct tools in the classrooms.
