This is my second year teaching, but I am so in love with my group of witty, fun-loving 2nd graders! I want my kiddos to have the opportunity to succeed in any way possible. They are such smart, capable little humans who are willing to give it their all to succeed. This school year, I want my students to be successful academically and socially by providing them with all the materials they need.
I work in a Title I School, where there is a 100% free lunch rate, and a majority of the students are living in poverty.
These students deserve the world and I want to see them grow into the wonderful human beings they deserve to be.
I am asking for six wobble stools to help add more flexible, or alternative, seating options for my classroom. Research has proven that when students have the power of choice in a classroom, they do better academically.
In my classroom, students have the choice to pick where they want to sit each and every day - multiple times throughout the day.
This is my second year using flexible seating and my students have shown me time and time again that they are engaged, focused, and excited about learning when they get to choose their own seats.
Some options in my classroom already are pillows, yoga balls, crate seats, standing desks, scoop rockers, and bouncy bands on chairs. This project will add additional options to my classroom. Any donation will be greatly appreciated by me and my students! Thank you!!
