Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The special thing about my kindergartners is that they come in every day ready to learn. They are very curious about everything. They love to ask questions, do hands-on activities and they are very creative.
Despite the challenges they face outside of the classroom, I am compromised to give them the best education so that they can reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.
Most of my students come from low-income families and receive free breakfast and lunch every day.
My Project
Teaching kindergarteners is amazing but can sometimes take away meaningful teaching time while managing behavior. At this age, students have too much energy and want to constantly be moving their bodies during instruction. I want my students to be able to wobble and be engaged at the same time.
Providing flexible seating to my students will help reduce behavioral issues, help them focus, and can improve academically.
The two Flex-Space balance ball bundle seats will be used by students who have a hard time focusing in the classroom and will also serve my special education students. They will be provided during whole group instruction, small group instruction and when working independently.
