Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Sixty-five curious third graders are becoming strong readers and writers. Our school is a small neighborhood school in PG County. About half of our third graders are learning English as a second language. There is also a significant part of our population receiving free and reduced-price meals.

We are also very proud to be a Green School.

We work hard to incorporate helping the environment and reducing our carbon footprint into everyday. The students are eager and excited to learn everyday!

My Project

Flexible seating gives students an opportunity to choose the type of seat they sit in for they day. Students have so little choice over their day while at school. Something as small as a fun seat for the day can change their entire attitude about school and get them in the mood to learn. We currently have 3 wobble stools and the students LOVE them, so I thought why not get more?

Wobbling while learning is great exercise, which is proven to lower stress levels and improve concentration!

Help my students enjoy their learning by contributing to our fundraiser to get 6 new wobble stools!
