My Project
This project will help purchase the supplies that are needed to start the WOA Wellness Warriors, a wellness club for students in grades K-12 at Warren Online Academy. WOA is an amazing place because we provide high quality virtual instruction for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. This club will provide the tools and space for students to become mindful of their wellness while fostering a greater sense of belonging throughout our school community.
It is my goal and passion to help students build positive physical and mental wellness habits into their daily routine in ways that are fun and motivating.
I will help students set and track wellness goals, guide them in understanding how to keep their bodies and minds healthy and also provide opportunities to participate with peers and staff members in regular physical fitness activity.
This grant will make a huge impact because it will allow me to purchase items needed to start this club and support students at home with their wellness journey. These items include an exercise mat and water bottle, basic fitness tracker and wellness journal. Our virtual learners often do not have access to the opportunities and equipment that students who attend a traditional school would have. Providing students with these tangible items gives equal opportunity for all students to start their wellness journey in their own home spaces regardless of resources they may or may not have access to.
It is so important for this project to be funded so we can remove the barriers and provide our virtual learners with the tools and experiences to nurture their bodies and minds toward wellness. Thank you so much for considering funding this opportunity for our students.
