My Students
Do you remember being in a class play? I know every student loves to perform and create a world through art. Help my third graders to perform and create a set for The Wizard of Oz this spring!
My students are caring third graders.
They are thoughtful toward each other, love art, and love to perform for others. They all come from low income homes, but work their hardest in school every day. They are inspiring students that make teaching interesting. They truly care about creating art, and they would love to work towards creating an entire background set for our class play!
My Project
I am requesting art materials for my third grade class to begin to design a set for our spring play, The Wizard of Oz. Students will be reading the book, and performing with the help of the dance teacher. In order to perform for our school community, we need beautiful costumes, and art materials to create a set. We will be using paper rolls, markers, paint, and brushes to decorate a background for our setting.
The Arts are an important tool for students to express themselves.
I hope with this project my students will build self confidence, reading comprehension, and artistic expression. With the emphasis on set design, I also hope students will learn about the details in performances. They might even find a love in design through this project!
