Witnessing a Life Cycle Up Close

My Project

In 6th grade science, students learn about pollinators and their important role in the survival of plants. Cycles are also a recurring theme throughout all levels of science. To enhance our study of plants and the environment, I would love for my students to be able to witness the life cycle of an important pollinator, the butterfly.

Help me give a unique experience to my students; being able to see firsthand the transformation of larvae into adult butterflies.

Most students have not witnessed this event personally, even if they have seen the separate stages that a butterfly goes through during its lifetime.

The materials I am requesting will provide the larvae and habitats to make this project possible. After viewing the transformation we will hold a special release to allow our butterflies to go out into nature and fulfill their roles as pollinators.
