Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year I'm working as an intervention teacher so these kids have to do both online classes with their regular teacher and then show up for group sessions with me. My 30 sixth graders come from low-income families. They are first generation students who mainly speak Spanish. The majority of them live in multi-family homes sharing rooms with multiple siblings. Most of them have a hard time finding a quiet place to do online classes but they still show up with smiles on their faces and ready to learn. They are really happy with just the basic necessities of life. Their joy for life is contagious.
My Project
Over the past few months of distance learning, I have noticed my students have struggled using the trackpad on their computers to input answers and complete assignments. They have touch screen computers but they don’t always work the way they should.The best way to promote inclusion, lift up equality, and eliminate racism is by educating ourselves and technology is a great way to start.
Wireless mice will provide the technology needed to breeze through this year.
Having a wireless mouse will help them better manipulate the tools on Jamboard and Seesaw, so they can do their work clearly, neatly, and accurately. Your help in providing this useful tool will greatly benefit my students for this upcoming school year.
