My Project
I strive to create a literacy rich environment for my children to explore and build their emerging reading skills. I take pride in providing a classroom library with inviting books and reading materials. We get to visit the school library to check out books and I update classroom reading materials.
I do everything I can to foster a love for reading with my students, but for some students, it ends when they leave school.
Many students do not have quality reading materials at home, which are necessary to build a bridge from school learning to home learning. By subscribing to Scholastic My Big World pre-K reader, I have access to student readers and awesome online resources to use in class and then I am able send home rich reading material for students to use at home. I especially love that these readers include activities for social-emotional development!
This grant would certainly be a gift that keeps on giving, as these subscriptions provide multiple sets of readers each month and provides daily home and school access to the nonfiction resources online. Thank you for considering a donation to our classroom to support early reading!
