Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come to class ready to learn. They feel on top of the world when they hear clear instructions, identify images, letters, and express themselves. They love to work with their peers and in groups. My students love to share their learning experiences. We love to celebrate every success made by every member of our class. Moreover, when it comes to technology, they show they are 21st century kids. I have learned a lot from my students. They are curious, enthusiastic learners and never stopped surprising me every day.

I teach in a Special Education School.

Our school is located in a high poverty area in the Bronx, New York. My students have a variety of disabilities that include developmental delays, learning disabilities, autism, and other health impairments. They are on different learning levels and require so much support to reach their academic goals.

My Project

My students are in a desperate need for a new laptop and iPad to learn remotely. It will make their learning and work better and faster than before. This will be their dreams come true.

A new Laptop and iPad will help to alleviate the difficulties encountered while preparing, running lessons, and managing my remote learning class every day with an outmoded and worn-out computer and iPad.

With the new tools, not only will I be able to provide high-quality education for my students, but I will be able to monitor what they are doing while I am teaching or presenting to them on the other screen. The added support our class will enjoy with these tools is not only for this time of uncertainties but as we move forward with teaching and learning this school year and beyond. As a result, my students’ dreams will come true and will be empowered to unlock their potentials.
