My Project

As a dedicated Black woman School Counselor serving urban youth of color, I recognize that for many of my students, school is more than a place of learning—it is their sanctuary. I strive to create a safe, affirming space where students feel seen, supported, and empowered. Aware of the challenges and chaos many face at home, I offer a welcoming environment each morning where they can access hygiene and hair care essentials, prepare for their day with dignity, and center themselves mentally and emotionally. My work is rooted in compassion, cultural responsiveness, and the belief that every child deserves to start their day with confidence and care.

This project focuses on supporting students' fundamental and emotional well-being—offering snacks to nourish their bodies, hygiene items to uphold their dignity, and resources like mindfulness books, fidgets, games, and sports equipment to strengthen their mental health and social-emotional development.

These simple yet powerful tools create opportunities for reflection, connection, and healing.

Donating to this project means investing in my students' well-being, confidence, and ability to learn. It means empowering them with the resources they need to build lifelong skills, improve their mental health, and become strong, self-assured learners.
