Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school has almost 800 students from preschool through 8th grade. My classroom currently has 19 students, and most come from low-income households within different areas of the city. Now that remote learning has started, I am looking for ways to capture the interest of young children through video using fun and captivating material.
Our school is a Level 1 school, and approximately half of our school's population comes from a low-income household.
18.8% of students are diverse learners, and 14.5% are English-language learners. The students in my classroom are a diverse group, and they love working hands-on with a variety of learning materials.
My Project
All children deserve to learn in an environment where they feel comfortable and interested in the materials around them. Help me improve their learning environment with creative and unique materials for students to use throughout the coming years, during this Remote Learning period.
I will not only minimize my prep time and spend more quality time teaching and setting up lessons, but I will also be able to provide students with unique and captivating material.
In my classroom, there are high expectations for students' learning; students have the freedom to be independent and self-monitor within the classroom environment as teachers scaffold their learning. The materials that I will be able to create will aid in their exploration and learning in order for them to be able to build a solid foundation starting in preschool. Not only will I be able to create a carefully prepared environment, but I will be able to make it appealing to young children's interests.
Cricut will help provide unique daily materials for students to use, bulletin board and room decor, personalized labels, student projects, and even end-of-the-year and field trip t-shirts. With Cricut, the possibilities are truly endless!
