My Students

Do I really know what is happening in the homes of my students? No. I simply don't. I know that some of them have parents who have been laid off, which means money is an issue right now. Some have two parents who are working, which means they are left alone all day. Some have families they don't get along with and this is a terrible time for them.

Every situation is as unique as every student.

I hope I can find a way to help each of them through this difficult time.

My Project

An iPad will allow me to do so many things for and with my students. While we’re not in a classroom, we can use the iPad to continue to meet virtually. Keeping in touch with students has been a challenge for me, but an iPad would allow me to hold scheduled meeting times and be available for my students. An iPad would also allow me to participate in a book study virtual meetings for professional development with my colleagues.

But what I am most excited about (because it would mean we’re back in our classrooms) is using the iPad to help me progress monitor my students.

Those words have been scary to me! But after participating in Get Your Virtual Teach On, I am excited to work progress monitoring into my daily routine. This will help me nail down exactly what my students need to work on to grow. And it will help students be able to identify those needs themselves as well! I am so excited about all of the things this iPad will allow me to do!
