Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are extremely eager about learning. They come to school every day with smiles on their faces, joy in their hearts, and energy to last us all day. My students consistently give their best effort despite circumstances at home.
We are located just outside of Boston, in a small city that is rapidly increasing in population.
Our school district is home to over 7,200 students from grades K to 12. The entire district provides free breakfast and lunch for every student.
My students' little brains have lived through a lot in their short lives; several of my students have walked through divorce, homelessness, hunger, poverty, illness, death, and horrific tragedy to a degree that is surprising for such precious little ones.
We are a team in third grade, and these children motivate me just as much as I try to motivate them.
My Project
For the first time ever, my students will begin their 2020-2021 school year from their house. Our district has opted to begin the year fully remote. With that being said, the easel and chart paper will help me set up a classroom at home to give students the full effect while they learn through video calls.
An easel and chart paper are two necessities for any teacher, but especially for those doing remote learning.
These will be especially helpful for my special education and English Learner students who use visuals to help them reach their greatest potential.
By donating to this project, you will ease the burden of remote teaching. The easel and chart paper will be used every day, during every lesson. When we return to the classroom, both items will be extremely useful as well.
