Our school serves students in grades K-8 and teachers provide rigorous academic instruction, that serves the needs of all our students while providing a safe learning environment.
My energetic students come from many diverse and challenged homes, but they crave fun and exciting ways to learn during their upcoming summer learning time.
My fun-loving students live in a low income inner-city neighborhood. They lack many basic school supplies and there are language barriers because their native tongue is not English. All students receive free daily breakfast and lunch. My students have many personal struggles at home, but it is my job to make sure they are able to accomplish their individual school work goals.
One of my goals as a teacher is to provide things that my students are lacking and to create a positive learning environment. Every day, I strive to meet their various needs in any way I can. My students will need individualized class supplies to complete their assignments, so by requesting various school items, my students will be able to complete all of their in-person learning tasks.
My Project
A new extra pocket chart stand will be wonderful in our classroom to add our new sentence strips, from our daily Phonics lessons. Students will be able to come up and write up the sentence strips as they share their knowledge. The extra sentence strips will also be a perfect visual tool, for clearly writing out the daily objectives for all our students.
The dry erase markers will make a difference in our students' learning as they will be used for the individual wipe off boards in small group instruction with me.
Students will also use the dry erase markers for math and reading lessons, to check their work.
The hand pointers will help our students to stay on track when we practice our fluency reading in class, from the smartboard.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
