This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students frequently need a little assistance with accessing their school environments, especially when it is too loud, or anxiety provoking. There are so many ways to help students experiencing difficulty with sensory regulation or difficulty tolerating sensory experiences participate in their day, and these sensory supports can help get them through a tough activity or lesson.

Sometimes, they need some oral input, chew tubes or a chewy snack to help them cope.

Other times, they need a little weight or some squeezes to make it through some tough activities. My students all deserve the opportunity to participate in their school day in a comforting yet exciting way so they can learn all there is to learn!

All students deserve to participate in their school day in a way that helps them learn, without competing with sensory differences.
