Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year is exciting because I am not only teaching 7th, 8th grade science and health, but also two STEAM electives. I am part of a new Linked Learning team that builds thematic, career based lessons across the curricular areas. I love planning lessons, love creating activities and projects. But this year will be especially challenging with the new courses. During summer school, I supplemented our math lessons with creative projects from Teachers Pay Teachers. These included foldables and Breakout rooms. I really benefitted from being able to find specific activities for different student needs.

With the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards, I can download projects for supplemental science activities, individualized review lessons. I can get templates for breakout rooms that can be personalized, slide decks with amazing graphics.
Creating engaging activities and projects is one of my favorite parts of teaching. But this year, I'm going to have less time while planning for new courses. Being able to use high quality lessons created by other teachers will be beyond helpful.
