This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My PreK students love storytime! Our classroom library is limited but the kids enjoy listening to the same story more than once. They always find something new in each book. We read them on the carpet, and then they pretend to read it to each other when they go to their own independent library. At 4 and 5, they are pre-emergent readers full of excitement and hunger for the knowledge each book gives them. They love their classroom books and I love how much they get out of each story.
The books in my project will help my bilingual PreK students widen their knowledge and repertoire.
I will use the books to enrich our classroom library. I will read them to my students during story time when we sit on the carpet at the start and at the end of our day.
