it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The scholars that faithfully attend our school are an opinionated, curious, and very cool bunch. They are wacky and excited about their learning and rarely allow their "coolness" to prevent them from expressing it. For instance, my proud athletes are also the ones who get excited when they finally break down a math concept or complete a project.
Although you may not see it from the outside, my kids have also demonstrated much resilience.
Our school is a Title I school where 92% of our students come from low-income backgrounds. Many are from families who have immigrated to our country. They are a strong bunch!
My Project
I am ordering a class set of wireless, rechargeable mouses so that students can access their learning through their Chromebooks in an easier way. Chromebook trackpads start to get worse after 2 or 3 years. We can use them for a few more years as long as we get the students mouses. This year, I got a class set of wired mouses which is great! However, wired mouses (due to the fact of 1 mouse being shared among 4 students), quickly can be broken due to constant rolling up of the cords and even just tugging.
It may seem like a luxury, but for the students who have purchased their own wireless mouses, seem to have the easiest time accessing what they need.
We do use Chromebooks but they are not easy to replace and fix all the time. It would be great if we could use wireless mouses that wouldn't require battery to keep going!
