My students enter my classroom each morning with smiles on their faces and an eagerness to tackle any task! Recently we have transformed our classroom to allow for a variety of flexible seating options and I can’t even begin to express what an amazing difference it has made! Students that need a little extra movement in their day are able to stand, wiggle on yoga balls, rock in seat rocker chairs, or sit on stability discs to help with focus. They have told me that they feel like the luckiest class in our school because they are being allowed to get what their bodies need while learning so many new skills at the same time because they are better able to focus.
My students are also fortunate to have a full class set of chrome books available for use each day.
We use them daily to assist with increasing math fact fluency, improving our keyboarding skills, accessing our textbooks digitally, and so much more!!!
My Project
In my third grade classroom we have a class set of chromebooks that we use at various times during the school day to enhance our curriculum and instruction. However, the touchpad can often be tricky for my students to use while navigating various sites and programs. It is especially difficult for them to use when they are using it with online drawing tools. As a class my students feel that there are times when it would be helpful to have a wireless mouse that they could use along with their chromebook. These wireless mice are also of a smaller size and easier to use with their smaller hand size.
