My Project

I love my student's commitment to learning and how engaged they are during their small group station rotations as they practice independence and build a strong knowledge foundation through interactive activities. For my students who come from poverty families, engagement and independence are often replaced by embarrassment and shame for not having what more affluent students have or are able to afford for school.

Having a class set of headphones for student tablets will enable my First Grade students to listen to and interact with digital instruction on their tablets without disturbing their fellow classmates working in non-digital learning stations by having to listen without headphones.

A pair of headphones for each student will level the digital learning playing field.

My goal for this project is to ensure that each of my students-many of whom come from poverty backgrounds-have the tools they need to be successful and confident learners in First Grade.
