Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I currently teach eighth grade Mathematics and Writing. My school is located on the south side of Chicago. For the majority of my students English is their second language, over 90% receive free lunch. I am hoping for a set of wipe boards for my classroom. The boards will be utilized as an assessment tool. They are an innovative way for the students to express what they have learned. One side is blank and can be used to solve equations, review vocabulary, etc,. The second side has a coordinate plane. This side can be used to display graphs, charts, etc,. The students love to use wipe boards. I am positive class participation will increase as well as individual learning. I am also asking for dry erase markers and erasers. I teach 5 classes a day. Each class has 27 - 29 students. These materials can be used from year to year so they will benefit hundreds of students. Thank you for your consideration.
