Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My classroom is as diverse as it gets and I love it! The students I serve are from so many distant places such as Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Mexico, India, Iraq, and America. I feel like this year I have learned a lot about their cultures and their specific needs. This has allowed me to grow both professionally and as a person.
Students have also learned a lot from each other, primarily to respect and accept each other's differences.
This is something very needed in our society and of course, in America.
My Project
I am writing to request winter socks for my students. Winters in Chicago can be very cold, and I have noticed that some of my students do not have proper winter clothes. The majority walk to school, and when the weather is not too cold, they go out for recess. However, they are not prepared for the climate because some come without the basic winter necessities like hats, gloves, scarves and socks. I want them to be safe and healthy, and also want to prevent the spread of colds. Please help fund this project so that my students can have them. I thank you in advance for reading my project.
