My Students
My students are African American and Hispanic. They come from very low-income families. Many of my children have not been exposed to many opportunities "extra" activities, such as The Children's Museum, Zoo, etc., things many children take for granted. Many of these children are dealing with traumatic experiences that affect their emotional well-being.
They are enthusiastic and inquisitive.
We do not have a lot of resources for these busy little ones. We could use lots of enrichment activities and resources.
My Project
With winter months coming, my students need large movement activities to help build large motor skills and muscles. In doing so, they will also be able to learn! Win, Win!
We have 20 students in a small area.
We do not have a specific area for recess when we are unable to go outdoors. We really need activities that will not only entice our children to move, but will help them learn as well. The items I am trying to provide for my students will help with large motor as well as learning.
