My Project
Our classroom is already well underway with our hydroponic garden. Currently we have our lettuce station growing anywhere from 30-60 plants as well as some tomato and cucumber plants that are trying to survive.
We have discovered that our tomato and cucumber plants simply need stronger grow lights to produce food than what we are currently providing them.
We discussed and made a plan to expand our leafy greens if we can find quality high powered grow lights to replace the ones currently used on the tomato and cucumber plants.
The goals are to:
1. Have our students learn to care and nurture a living organism.
2. Grow produce during the school year and encourage a healthy, pesticide free diet.
3. Produce healthy food for the school, volunteers and our community
4. Learn the science behind plant growth, healthy eating and a proper hydroponic set up
