This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach in a low income school district. My students come from many different backgrounds, but they all have one thing in common: They love to learn! My students come to class eager to learn and positive attitude. However, I am not always able to give them everything that they need to have an equal chance to succeed in life.
I teach math and reading.
I have different levels of learners in my math class, and I have a low-level reading group. I teach 100 students each day. There is so much I would love to give my students, but the funds aren't always there.
My Project
The winter is here, and my students are all going a little stir crazy. We have to have indoor recess in the room, and I do not have anything fun for them to do. We watch movies on Netflix, but they need fun and engaging activities so they can blow off a little steam.
There are many behavior issues when there is a lack of structure.
By giving my students organized games to participate in during recess, it will cut down on behavior. It also gives my students something to do instead of sitting and watching movies for a half hour a day!
