Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am currently teaching fifth grade, my school is located in Sandy, Utah and is part of the DLI program. I have 42 amazing students.
My two classes are amazing and always ready to work hard no matter what, even if sometimes it's hard for them speaking in Spanish half of the day with a mask.
I love their creativity and the different ways they have to approach problems. This is their fifth year learning in DLI, the target language is Spanish and they can speak fluently about a great variety of topics.
Learning a second language it's not easy, especially when you learn not only the language but different subjects. It's a great program, and it works!
Winter is around the corner, and also a lot of indoor recess. Covid in schools is hard enough, but winter is going to make it harder. I want my students to be able to forget about it during the indoor recess too. They need to be able to play during this time and just be kids.
My Project
Children need breaks, but this winter is going to be hard in cold Utah. Being with a mask is hard enough, but in the coming months, they are not going to be able to have outside recess. They need to move, play and just take a few minutes to play.
I want to help my students to forget about Covid during indoor recess.
They need to play and have fun, keep being happy children and also practice their Spanish. This is not an impossible mission if I just get a little help. Will you help me to achieve this goal?
