About My Students

The amazing students submitting this project are Valeria, Emely and Alina. These soon to be high schoolers are smart, funny, hard-working, and, in their own words, athletic and fun. They value health and fitness, and they want to put their values to good use! They are thoughtful and caring individuals who want to make a difference at our school.

These girls have a lot of girl power, and in this project, they really show how much they care about sports. As part of their Language Arts class, they decided to write a grant for supplies for PE and team sports. They want to make PE more engaging and provide much needed equipment for our sports center. They would appreciate your help!

My students are studying how art reflects values. They are using their Language Arts skills to write grants that reflect their own personal values. These students value team sports, and they hope to use their persuasive writing to convince you to support their grant that provides supplies and equipment to our team sports program. In preparing this project, students are using 21st century skills of critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. It always amazes me to see the ideas they want to bring to life. In Their Own Words

Hi! We are writing this grant so we can reach our goal to buy the girls' basketball team some new equipment. We are trying to buy some basketball equipment because our basketball are old and ruined. The coach asked that if we could get the girls some equipment such as basketballs, jerseys, scorebooks , ball pumps, and coaches clipboards. It would be amazing to reward the team with some new equipment!

First of all, we’re writing this grant so our basketball equipment gets funded. After this process of writing and posting our paragraphs in Donors Choose, hopefully our grant will be funded. When it gets funded, they're going to deliver it. When all of the supplies get here, we’re going to unpack and take pictures. Also, we’re going to take it over to our coaches. Then, to show how thankful we are for your donations, we are writing thank you notes and send photos. Finally, we are going to be leaders on the court. We will help take care of the supplies and try to make sure that our team treats the equipment with respect.

We really hope you can help us get our girls' basketball equipment. it would be really nice if we really got that opportunity to get the equipment we need for the basketball team. This equipment will give us the supplies we need to practice hard and be our best. We will be really proud of all of the supplies. Thank you so much, and we hope you have a great day!
