My Project

At NES, we take great pride in the diverse tapestry of cultures that make-up our school community. We believe that every child deserves access to books that reflect their own culture and introduces them to the cultures of others. To further demonstrate this belief, I'd like to expand upon the collection of books in my classroom library to include more titles that authentically represent the rich cultural backgrounds present within our community of learners.

By offering a diverse range of titles, my students will see themselves reflected in the stories they read or hear, creating a space that promotes empathy, understanding and respect for cultural diversity, while also encouraging exploration of the world beyond our school community.

Empowering young learners to become compassionate global citizens who embrace diversity and celebrate the unique traditions, languages and experiences of others is paramount to building a more inclusive and equitable learning environment for everyone.
