This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have this mini wind turbine that I show every year and every year I get the question... "When are you going to let us build one of those" and my response is always "Hopefully one day."

My students long to be able to create and experience science.

They are full of energy and want to participate in the class discussions, labs and demonstrations every opportunity they get. I have never seen a more enthusiastic group of kids. It is exciting and energizing to come in and see what questions they have from the discussion or lab the day before.

My Project

I am asking for 8 mini wind turbines for the students to be able to construct and use to replicate alternative forms of energy. I currently have 1 of these turbines and the students are so curious and interested to do it for themselves. By having an additional 8 turbines, I would be able to have the students work in groups of 4 to build and discuss how it works, and the advantages and disadvantages of wind energy.

The donation of the turbines will benefit this year's students and many years of students to come.

It is a great and proven product that the students desire to have. Your donation would be greatly appreciated and lead to the excitement of at least 140 eager 6th graders.
