Mr. Banks from Dallas TX is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 3" binders to hold their day-to-day classroom materials. We do not have textbooks; therefore, as the semester progresses these binders will become their primary resource manual.

I teach approximately 130 ninth grade students who come from socioeconomic disadvantaged homes. Despite the challenges majority of my students face in their day-to-day lives most are hard-working and eager to learn. Our classroom has many different learning needs, so having different resources to help with student needs will be amazing.
As Abraham Lincoln once said, "Teach the children so it will not be necessary to teach the adults".
I can't wait to see what these new resources will do to build my students knowledge and success!
These binders will enhance the classroom by providing students an alternative to textbooks. The students will place their notes and classwork neatly in their binder; learning organizational skills in the progress. As the semester progresses, the binder will become a resource manual for students to use or refer back to as they prepare for state assessments. The binders will be stored in a safe location inside the classroom to prevent loss, but students will be using their binder each class day and have access to their binders during afterschool tutoring. In addition, the binders will allow me to show parents their child's progress during home visits or open-houses.
I know that some might think, "Why doesn't he ask for these items on his classroom supply list".
Unfortunately I do not have that luxury and already provide a variety of goods to my students from out of my pocket. I strongly believe that with your help these binders will improve student performance even further, and less the financial burden I already face.
