My Project
Our fourth-grade gifted and talented students will be reading The Wild Robot together as part of our last book club for the school year.
After our students finish reading the book, then they will create their own working robots for a districtwide competition amongst all the book clubs with OKCPS and the STEM robot kits, extra motors, and gears will help our students build their robots.
Along the way, they will be discussing literary themes and having lively book discussions that will allow them to share their thoughts and views in a safe place.
The extra five books will help fill the total needed for 15 students to have their own copy of the book to keep. The other 15 copies of each of The Wild Robot Escapes and The Wild Robot Protects will be to help support their summer reading program.
The white prong folders will be used to keep each students' literary guides and discussion pages in one safe place. We chose white folders so that they could create their own "book cover" for The Wild Robot or design plans for the working robot. (Extra folders will be saved for future reading clubs. We try to have four clubs a year that focus on diversified groups of fourth graders.)
