This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is a energetic place of learning. We do a lot of hands on activities that require a lot of materials. I love centers and we do twenty reading centers a week as well as 8 math centers. I love for my students to have hands on experience when it comes to their learning.
My students are very bright and eager to learn.
They come into the classroom every day ready to get started and learn. They always complain when we go to recess because they want to do more learning! My school is focused on helping our students achieve in every way that we can. We have an extended hour of school this year that is focused on assisting students improve their reading skills.
My Project
I am going to use all of the materials I have requested for centers. After instruction my students go to centers that are based on the skills we are working on in class. This gives them a hands on learning experience that relates to what we are working on in class. My goal is to give my students all the materials that they may need to aid in their learning. I use cardstock paper to print my centers on and laminate them for durability so that my students can use them over and over again. My students love centers and I love making them! They get so excited to go to a new center. The markers are so that they can record information during centers and the number line is to help them with their adding and subtracting during math centers.
My goal is to help my students achieve.
I think these items will help me create a lasting resource that my students can revisit to help them master their reading and math skills. This in turn will help them be successful in my class and hopefully as they progress through school.
