Many of my little first graders come from hard working parents who struggle financially month to month. My students are a group of first graders, ages six and seven, at a Title I school in Phoenix, Arizona. The students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
My goal is to provide my students with materials that would allow them to grow and learn each day.
My first graders are very enthusiastic and excited learners! They just need some additional tools to get them on their way to learning.
My Project
Each day we attend Daily 5 literacy stations. One of our 5 choices is "Word Work". At Word Work, students practice their spelling and sight words of the week. These art supplies of markers, stamps, play-doh, rainbow scratch paper and glitter crayons will give students a variety of fun choice when they visit this center to practice their words!
Funding of this project would allow students access to materials they may not have outside of school.
These supplies would allow students to have a choice on the tool that best meets their needs and interests. What fun and excitement adding these creative artistic opportunities will bring to our learning!
