This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school strives to create civic-minded leaders and resilient lifelong learners. Learners that are aware and learners that can appreciate the world around them...including the animals in it! Getting to the San Diego Zoo will allow first graders to continue this exciting process!
I have a class full of leaders and excited learners.
They love to experience new and interesting things. Being able to get face to face with the animals at the San Diego Zoo will allow my students to learn about the differences and similarities of the animals as well as fill their hearts and minds with curiosity, excitement, and joy!
My Project
With your help, first grade will be able to get up close and personal with the animals they love learning, talking, and writing so much about. Many of these students do not have the resources available to get to the zoo, but this field trip will allow them the opportunity to do just that! The gift of transportation will get my students one step closer to seeing, hearing, smelling, learning, and writing about the animals they all love so much!
This San Diego Zoo experience will not only build the knowledge my students already have, but it will spark a curiosity that will have them wanting to learn so much more!
This is an exciting time for my young learners and we want to make sure we maintain their thrill for learning!
